22 May 2018Glasgow Labyrinth the Centrepiece of National Theatre of Scotland production
Between 11th and 23rd June 2018, The Children's Wood Labyrinth at North Kelvin Meadow will form the centrepiece of a theatrical interpretation of The Reason I Jump; a book written in 2005 by Japanese author Naoki Higashida, a then-13-year-old boy with autism.
In this innovative adaptation, which is conceived and directed by award-winning Scottish artist Graham Eatough, the book becomes an experience, a mysterious journey through a beautiful outdoor maze with the labyrinth at its heart. There, you will encounter the gardeners who tell you tales about Naoki as well as stories of their own. The production was created with, and performed by, a group of artists with autism ranging from early teens to 60 years old. A unique opportunity to think about the many ways that human beings experience life.
